Fines are assessed on a per day/per item basis. Currently the per day fee for an overdue book or magazine is ten cents per day for adults. Children's fines are five cents per day. Videos and DVDs are charged at one dollar per day. Further, there is a one-dollar per video rewinding fee if the tape is returned without rewinding.

A book drop is available at the Walnut Street entrance to allow the return of materials during hours when the library is closed. Videos and DVD's MUST be returned inside at the service desk or in special padded envelopes when returned via the bookdrop. The envelopes are available for checkout at the service desk. Materials for those with visual or physical disabilities
The Lillie M. Evans Library District is committed to providing excellent information services to all residents of our community. The library is an accessible building with ADA compliant restrooms. A ramp is located at the south entrance. Our meeting room has a separate ramp located on the north side of the building. In addition to a collection of audiobooks and a large print collection, the library can also provide assistance to individuals needing the services of a nationally funded library service for those unable to use the local library materials. The Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center provides free library service for anyone unable to read regular print because of a visual or physical disability. Eligible persons who are unable to comfortably read standard print due to a temporary or permanent disability that prevents holding a book or turning pages, or a reading disability such as dyslexia are encouraged to apply for this service. Applications and information are available at the library and at the Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center's website. Books and magazines on tape and playback equipment; and also in Braille are offered through this service. Books and magazines are mailed free to and from library patrons, wherever they reside. There is no charge, whatsoever, to the patron.

Viewing your library account
This service will allow you to see what is checked out on your library card, any fines that are owed, and what items are requested, as well as anything that is waiting on hold for you. You can also place a hold on a book from home. This service will mean that no matter what time of day or night, you can see your library account. To protect your privacy, only your library card number can access the information so it is important to have your card handy to use this service. We cannot give library card numbers out over the phone.
